Early decay detection and x-rays

Digital x-rays
Dental x-rays are used to detect disease under restorations, between teeth and in the jaw bone. We have invested in the latest digital x-ray technology which can achieve a dosage reduction of 60-90% compared to the already low-level traditional x-rays. We do not take x-rays unnecessarily. We will assess your need for x-rays based upon the results of your personal caries risk assessment. Digital x-ray technology speeds up and simplifies the diagnostic part of your treatment, and most importantly, allows us to provide a much higher level of care. Detecting and treating dental problems at an early stage may save you time, money, unnecessary discomfort, and your teeth!

We are able to show you your x-rays on a computer monitor while you are in the dental chair. You no longer have to sit there for fifteen minutes and wait for x-ray film to develop.

The highly detailed image of your teeth on our computer screen can be rotated, magnified, adjusted for contrast and even colour-coded to reveal hidden problems to you. Our digital system uses no film or chemicals, so we don't have to worry about disposing of hazardous processing waste and is also better for the environment.
